Secrets of Pavis
The Paps
Second Age: Enormous temples tower over the Earth. The place looks like it should be bustling, but it is deathly quiet. Two Babeester Gor Axe Maidens approach the party and escort them to a Temple of Eiritha, the herd mother. The herd beasts corralled around the temple are all exceptionally skittish.
An aged crone, an Elder of the cult, tells the party that Chaos has invaded the Paps, and trapped the Most Respected Elder and Lord Pavis who was visiting her. The Elder consulted the oracles and saw that the Queen Who is Not a Queen is their only hope. However, there are conflicting factions within the Paps as to what to do, some believing that Pavis has brought the Chaos back through his unnatural magics, and the Elder saw that unity would be necessary were disaster not to befall the temple. The first step will be to win the aid of the surface cults, those that maintain active cults within the tribes. After that they should descend into the Paps itself, the holiest place on Earth, the last remnant of Genert’s Garden. There are many strange cults and spirits there, but the ones they should look to for the most help are Ronance, the Three Bean Circus, and the Good Shepherd.
